1. The short version
DockLockr is a local macOS utility. The app itself does not send usage data, telemetry, or analytics anywhere. The only personal information we hold is what you give us when you buy a license and what your computer sends us when it activates that license. We don't sell your data, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't use third-party analytics on this website.
2. Who we are
DockLockr is operated by the DockLockr team (“we”, “us”). For privacy questions you can email berk@biozalp.com.
3. What we collect
- Purchase information. When you buy DockLockr, our payment processor (Polar) handles the transaction. They collect your email address, billing details, and country for tax purposes. We only receive your email and license metadata — not your card number.
- License activations. To enforce the 3-device limit, the app sends an anonymized device identifier to our license server when you activate or deactivate DockLockr. This identifier is derived from your hardware and cannot be reversed into a person.
- Support emails. If you write to support, we keep the email thread so we can help you. Nothing more.
- Local storage on this website. We use the browser's local storage to remember your theme choice and your cookie consent decision. That's it. No analytics or advertising cookies.
4. What we do not collect
- The app does not record what apps are in your Dock.
- The app does not transmit screen contents, keystrokes, or anything you do on your Mac.
- No third-party analytics, heat-mapping, or ad-tracking on this website.
5. Why we hold what we hold
We use the information above to deliver the product you paid for: issuing your license, letting you activate it on up to three devices, sending you receipts and important updates, and answering support questions. The legal basis under GDPR is performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service running (Article 6(1)(f)).
6. Who we share it with
Only the people who help us run the service:
- Polar — payment processing and license issuance.
- Our hosting provider — serves this website and the license API.
- Our email provider — sends purchase receipts and replies to support.
We never sell, rent, or trade your data.
7. How long we keep it
License records are kept as long as the license is active plus the legally required period for accounting (typically up to 7 years, depending on jurisdiction). Support emails are kept for up to 24 months after the conversation ends, then deleted.
8. Your rights
If you are in the EU, UK, or another region with similar laws, you can ask us to:
- See what we hold about you (right of access).
- Correct anything wrong (right of rectification).
- Delete your account and personal data (right to erasure).
- Get a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, just email berk@biozalp.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
9. Cookies on this website
We use two strictly necessary items of local storage:
theme— remembers whether you picked light or dark mode.dl-cookie-consent— remembers your answer to the cookie banner so we don't ask again.
That's all. You can change your consent choice below.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll bump the “Last updated” date at the top and, if you're a customer, email you a heads-up.
